• The technique of getting fixed tissue into paraffin is called tissue processing
• Tissue processing is designed to remove all extractable water from the tissue, replacing it with a support medium that provides sufficient rigidity to enable sectioning of the tissue without damage or distortion

Fick's Law

• To equalize concentrations inside and outside blocks of tissue this depends on Fick's Law:
• the rate of solution diffusion through tissues is proportional to the concentration gradient (the difference between the concentrations of the fluids inside and outside the tissue) as a multiple of temperature dependant constants for specific substances.

1.  DEHYDRATION
•    The first stage of processing is the removal of free unbound water and aqueous fixatives from the tissue components.
•    Many dehydrating reagents are hydrophilic and interact with the water molecules in the tissue by hydrogen bonding.While Other reagents affect dehydration by repeated dilution of the aqueous tissue fluids.
•    Excessive dehydration may cause the tissue to become hard, brittle and shrunken.Incomplete dehydration will impact the penetration of the clearing reagents into the tissue leaving the specimen soft and non-receptive to infiltration.
2.  Clearing
Clearing is the transition/intermediate step between dehydration and embedding.Consists of removal of the dehydrant with a substance that will be miscible with both the embedding medium paraffin and dehydrating agent.

2. Cooling System
1) Five-point refrigeration: A dual-compressor refrigeration system with five key refrigeration points: freezing head, freezing knife, freezing box, and double freezing tables. The freezing head can set different sectioning temperatures according to different tissues.
2) Refrigeration speed: No pre-cooling is required. It will enter the freezing state within 30 minutes of being turned on. It can be shut down after use. It is an energy-saving product.
3) Health protection: The temperature inside the freezer does not need to be too low. Excellent frozen sections can be cut. Avoid the vicious irritation of cold hands due to low temperature.
3. System protection
The rapid cooling system can be shut down manually at any time. After 8 hours of operation, if you forget to turn it off, the system will automatically shut down the rapid cooling system and enter a dormant state.
4. Defrost system
Auto defrost and manual defrost functions. You can set (1) defrost interval (2) defrost time by yourself. It can also be defrosted manually at any time (3).
